Bethesda Church & Cemetery

The church dates back to the 1790's and features Old Slave Gallery, and bullet holes from the Civil War. Listed on the National Register of Historic Places, the church holds an annual homecoming the last weekend of September. Guided tours for groups upon request. Located on Bethesda Road in Aberdeen. Bryant House & McLendon Cabin

Joel McLendon came to Moore County in 1758 to claim his grant of 200 acres, and choose a site overlooking Buck Creek for his home. This study one-room log sturcture was built to last, it has been preserved for more than 200 years, and is the oldest home in Moore County in its original location. Two historic museum house display the daily life or early settlers. Open for tours by appointment only. Free admission. Located at 3361 Mount Carmel Road in Upper Moore County. (910) 692-2051

Shaw House -
This antebellum plantation cabin built around 1820 is an example of the simple construction techniques of the time. It rests on the crossing of the Revolutionary era Pee Dee and Morganton Roads.
