Members of the military who elect to travel to their new duty station by POC (auto) are entitled to receive a mileage allowance, in lieu of cost of airline ticket. Military personnel who travel on official duty (either temporary duty travel, or permanent change of station), can request a mileage reimbursement for your travel by "personally owned conveyance" (POC), in lieu of a government purchased airline ticket.
